Model News

Email Received 10/9/05

Hello Club Officer,

I am sending out this first e-mail to all of the R/C Airplane clubs in Utah, Arizona, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Colorado and Wyoming.  The intent of this e-mail is to announce that the Price, Utah R/C Club (Desert Wings R/C Club) http://www.desertwings.org/ will be hosting a US Scale Masters Qualifier in September of 2006.  The exact date has not been set yet, but the month of September is definite.  The Desert Wings R/C Club is in the planning process now as it does take some time to get this sort of an event organized properly.

To my knowledge this will be the first US Scale Masters Qualifier ever held in Utah and it is our goal to make this event an outstanding one!  It is our hope that you will pass this information along to your membership and the information in future communications that I will send out updating the progress of this event.

Those of you who are not familiar with the US Scale Masters, here is a link to their website: http://www.scalemasters.org/   The US Scale Masters Association is committed to the development and growth of scale aircraft modeling, by bringing people together to have fun while focusing on scale realism, competition, and sportsmanship for the enjoyment of all.

Currently we plan to have the following categories:

Team Scale

Expert

Sportsman

Fun Scale

There will be trophies for the first 3 places of each category among other items to be announced at a future date.  We hope that members of each club we are contacting will come out and participate in this first ever event in Utah!

Note:  Also watch the Scale Forums on RCUniverse and RCGroups as we will also post new and updated information to these sites as well.

I searched out the websites of each club and sent this information to the Club President when possible. Unfortunately some clubs put no contact information or their site so I am sending this to their webmasters by default.  If you are not the right contact for your clubs please reply to this e-mail with the name, e-mail address and club name for the proper contact.

Thank you in advance for your attention and support!

Dear Sir:

I live in the Casa Grande/Coolidge area and recently lost my son in an accident.  He was into designing, building and flying planes.  I have items I have to sell and was wondering if you know of anyone in the area who may be interested in Balsa wood, blueprints, misc. modeling items, etc.

If so please have them e-mail me.

Thank you,

Carol Armel
